A charming beach village that recently has become home to many new hotels, guesthouses and holiday villas
The core of this beautiful area is the Fisherman's Village, a traditional town renowned for its old Chinese shop-houses and for its ever popular Friday Walking Market. Bophut also has the reputation for being one of the best places to eat on Samui. The village hosts several fine restaurants and offers a wide choice of cuisines in addition to traditional Thai dishes. Bophut is also very close to the international airport and to one of the main attractions of the island, the temple of Wat Phra Yai, also known as the Big Buddha Temple.
