Description

Villa Alamanda is a gorgeous 4 bedroom villa located five kilometres from central Ubud, in the traditional wood-carvers village of Tengkulak. The property is perched high on a hillside, surrounded by the lush jungle, and offers an authentic insight into the traditional Balinese life. This is simply the ideal accommodation for those seeking a quiet, relaxing and authentic Balinese holiday. Despite enjoying an amazingly remote and quite setting, Villa Alamanda is only a short drive to many hotspots, places such as Goa Gajah (the Elephant Cave), the UNESCO protected rice paddies of Tegallalang, the Bali Marine and Safari Park and, of course, Ubud, the island’s cultural heart. This village is renowned for its art, wood carving, antiques, jewellery, amazing restaurants, cafes and markets.

The villa

Villa Alamanda has been designed to harmonise with its natural surroundings and it is characterised by traditional elements such as wooden materials, thatched ceilings and open spaces, combined with luxury and modern facilities. The villa’s gardens are simply spectacular, a gorgeous explosions of tropical colours, an manicured oasis nestled in the lush tropical rainforest surrounding the property. The centrepiece of this outdoor space is the beautiful infinity swimming pool perched over a ravine and bordered by a Palimanan stone terrace with sun loungers, parasol and small outdoor dining table. Next to the pool we also find a lovely traditional thatched balè (covered gazebo) furnished with cushioned sofas, the perfect place to unwind and share unforgettable moments with friends or family.

The open-sided living area of the villa, with its polished wood floors, high ceilings and daybeds, offers great spaces for relaxation. In this same area we also a beautiful dining table, literally perched over the garden and overlooking the lush jungle. A fully enclosed and air-conditioned media room provides respite from the heat. This space features a large LCD TV, DVD player, toys, sofas and beanbags.

Villa Alamanda offers four gorgeous and comfortable bedrooms, all featuring air-conditioning, king sized beds, high-vaulted alang alang ceilings and luxurious en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs. The larger master bedroom, along with two of the other guest rooms, is located in the main pavilion and boasts a furnished outdoor terrace, a dressing room and a luxury sunken tub in the bathroom. The fourth bedroom is instead located in a separate pavilion, adjacent to the media room.

Staff

The amazing staff of the villa includes a talented chef, butlers, maids, gardener, maintenance team and security guards. Guests will only have to enjoying their time, relaxing by the pool, indulging in delicious meals or having talented therapists pampering them with massages and spa treatments!

What a perfect place to stay while visiting Ubud for our extended family! Lots of room for people to both spread out and be together. The staff and the food was AMAZING!!! Having a driver there to take us to see all the sights and detail life and culture made the trip so much more meaningful. It was great to be so close to the city, but with the feeling of being in a village was very peaceful. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. It was a wonderful time!
