Description
Villa Amaru is a luxurious and secluded oasis nestled in the tranquil Sayan Ridge in Ubud. The location offers breathtaking views of Bali's volcanoes and terraced rice fields, as well as a view of the Ayung river gorge.
Ubud is a charming town located in the central region of Bali. Known for its rich cultural heritage, beautiful natural scenery, and vibrant arts scene, it is a popular destination for travelers looking for an authentic Balinese experience. The town is also home to many wellness centers and spas, and it is also renowned for its delicious local cuisine. Visitors can enjoy traditional Balinese dishes, such as nasi campur (mixed rice) and babi guling (suckling pig), as well as a variety of international and vegetarian options.
The villa's unique architectural design was inspired by Arne Hasselquist's "David Bowie House" in Mustique, and was created in collaboration with Linda Garland.
Outdoor living areas
Step outside and you will be greeted with a beautiful garden and a gorgeous swimming pool perched on the edge of a lush green valley. The pool's base was carved by local artist Wayan Cemul, and the porte-cochere and suspended staircase were crafted by Ubud-born sculptor Pintor Sirait.
Indoor living areas
Inside, you will find an interesting assortment of Indonesian ethnic art, both built in, as doors and windows, or as artwork embellishments. These pieces come from various regions such as Sumba, Nias, Kalimantan, and North Sumatra. The soft furnishings in the villa, including the ikat textiles, are of high quality.
The enclosed living area features sliding glass doors that look out to the garden, and you can open louvred wooden shutters for a cool breeze or close them for air-conditioned comfort. The living area leads to an outdoor dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen. The dining table can comfortably seat 8 guests.
There is also a games room on the top floor of one of the stilt houses featuring a billiard table.
Bedrooms
The villa has four bedrooms, each one a serene hideaway where you can escape the world.
The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, multi-purpose wardrobe and a small desk. The en-suite marble bathroom has twin washbasins, oval mirrors, a wooden seat toilet and a shower. The bedroom also has a lovely terrace which overhangs the Ayung River and the jungle in the valley below.
The second bedroom sits high and has a balcony also overlooking the Ayung River gorge below. It is furnished with twin beds, a small desk and the beautiful en-suite marble bathroom with antique wash basin, toilet and shower.
The third and fourth bedrooms are furnished with double beds, a small desk and the beautiful en-suite bathroom with antique wash basin, toilet and shower.
Staff
The villa comes with professional staff including a villa manager, a cook, housekeepers, gardeners and security. Included in the rate are daily breakfast and return airport transfer. There is also a daily Ubud shuttle service in one seven-seater car (max. once per day, not applicable on check in and check out date).
The staff is also willing and able to assist with arranging any additional services you may require. They will be delighted to help with anything you need.
