Description
Villa Riva is a stunning 7-bedroom ocean-view villa located in Laem Noi, one of Koh Samui's most gorgeous areas. This cliffside abode is a huge property that has direct access to a semi-private golden-sand beach fringed by swaying palms and with clear sea water lapping lazily at the shore; in other words, a tropical heaven.
In the area guests can enjoy some lovely beachside restaurants and bars, where they can sample fresh local seafood delicacies and sip fantastic cocktails. However, being Samui a relatively small island, many other amazing attractions are only a few minutes drive away.
Outdoor living areas
The best way to appreciate the grandeur and the traditional architectural style of Villa Riva is through aerial shots: from above it's easier to see this luxury resort-like property, with its four main separate villas and its gorgeous high pitched Thai-style roofs, as a whole.
Nestled in lush vegetation on an emerald hillside, the villa has been designed to emphasise the breathtaking panorama: Koh Samui’s mesmerising waters can be viewed from every corner of the property. Perhaps the best view can be enjoyed from the splendid 32-meter infinity-edge swimming pool with built-in jacuzzi, a fantastic spot to regenerate after a day trip or to simply relax while enjoying the amazing tropical weather and the jaw-dropping vista. Next to the pool are some other fantastic spots for the guests to enjoy: the main deck furnished with sun loungers, a lower deck fitted with sofas, a poolside relaxation gazebo, ideal for getting massages, and a larger barbecue gazebo, which seats eight and is perfect for organise amazing alfresco meals with the help of the villa's chef.
From the pool a beautiful wooden staircase leads to the other buildings of the property and to a semi-private beach, shaded by tamarind trees and featuring sun loungers, a Thai massage bed and a "lovers' lounge" the perfect spot for a romantic evening.
If all this wasn't enough, Villa Riva also features an amazing floodlit tennis court with AstroTurf surfacing, and a covered events' platform with a food and beverage service area, a DJ podium, a dedicated bar and guest bathrooms, ideal to host unforgettable weddings, special celebrations and corporate events.
Indoor living areas
The inside of the villa can be accessed through an impressive stone entrance, which leads to the main level of the property's living area, called The Clubhouse. This is a gorgeous space featuring vaulted ceilings, wooden flooring and furnished with tasteful contemporary Asian art and decor. The room comprises a lounge corner, a beautiful 16-seater round, solid teak table and a fully equipped modern open kitchen (the villa also has a second kitchen, used by the staff for the preparation of meals).
Overlooking the living room is a beautiful mezzanine, which hosts the entertainment area and it is fitted with a 9-metre long sofa, a billiard table, a book library and a gaming table.Other remarkable indoor living areas are: the cinema room with cushioned recliner chairs, the wine cellar stocked with over 100 bottles, and the fantastic health and fitness zone featuring a fully equipped gym, a dry sauna, a jacuzzi, a changing room and a private massage room.
Bedrooms
Villa Riva can sleep 14 adults and 2 children in its seven gorgeous and spacious bedrooms.
Located on the upper level of the master pavilion, is the Grand Master Suite. This is a huge bedroom featuring a canopied king size bed, a sofa, an outdoor shower with fantastic views of the bay, a desk, a large private terrace with sun loungers and an ensuite bathroom fitted with a gorgeous jacuzzi tub.
In the same master pavilion, on the ground floor, are the Guest Suites 1 and 2. Both bedrooms feature extremely comfortable king size beds and private bathrooms with large bathtubs. One of these suites has been specifically designed for guests with mobility challenges. Also in this pavilion we have the kids or nanny room, fitted with twin beds and serviced by an ensuite bathroom.
The Guest Suites 3 and 4 are instead located in a separate pavilion, called Villa A. The upper suite boasts a gorgeous four-poster bed, a lounge sofa and an ensuite bathroom with a beautiful built-in tub. The lower level suite has instead a king size bed and a rain shower in its private bathroom. Both rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto glass walled balconies with breathtaking sea views.
The Villa B hosts instead the so-called Family Room, a bedroom perfect for a family of four, as it features a king size bed and an adjoining bedroom ideal for kids. The parents suite has been beautifully appointed and has a large bathtub in its ensuite bathroom and a covered patio. The kid bedroom has instead a double bed and a bathroom with a shower.
Staff
The professional and friendly staff will look after the guests' every need. The team includes an experienced villa manager, a private chef, housekeeping staff and security guards. Extra staff and services can also be arranged upon request. A delicious daily breakfast is included in the rate.

Villa Riva is beyond anything we could have hoped for during our stay in the unspoilt northern shore of Koh Samui. Facilities are excellent and plentiful. An ocean view infinity pool looks out over the secluded, private stretch of beach below. There is a 12-seater cinema room, sauna, jacuzzi, a floodlit tennis court, pool table and gymnasium. Everything has been thought of, down to the very last detail; from a personal fridge in the walk in wardrobe, Egyptian cotton sheets, sumptuous beds, large shower and huge sliding doors opening on to your own personal balcony. We could have stayed forever. Annie, the head housekeeper, and her team went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The traditional Thai food was fantastic and, as a vegetarian, I was very well looked after. Tours, excursions can all be organised with the staff there. We were driven to the port for our trip to Ang Thong National Park and picked up just in time for an alfresco dinner under the stars. A Southeast Asian seaside serenity, Villa Riva is the ultimate retreat from everyday life. We can not recommend it highly enough.

5/5We had a wonderful stay and memorable experience at Villa Riva. Perfect private property to spend time with family and friends. Not only a relaxing atmosphere that made us feel like home but also the beautiful decoration of the whole villa blew our mind. This place provided lots of activities such as swimming, pool table, jacuzzi, sauna, play station, tennis court, indoor cinema, kayak etc. The staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. Every meal we had was delicious and served effortlessly. This place is just simply heaven on earth! We would love to visit Villa Riva again. Thank you for having us. I highly recommend this villa!
