Villa San is a gorgeous 6 bedroom luxury villa located in central Ubud, only 300 meters from the Royal Palace. The village of Ubud is considered the spiritual and cultural heart of Bali, arguably one of the most sought-after holiday destination of the island. Ubud and its surrounding small villages are rich with art and culture, each focusing on specific crafts, such as stone and wood carving, ikat weaving and traditional paintings. Travellers will also have the chance to take cooking classes, learning how to carve wood, practice the traditional and intensely expressive Balinese dances, play ancient instruments and much more. Villa San is the perfect Ubud retreat for those large families or groups, who are looking for tranquillity and privacy, but at the same time want to be at easy walking distance from the center of the village and its numerous high quality restaurants and amazing cafes.
Outdoor Space
Villa San’s garden is a large and gorgeously kept tropical oasis, a magnificent space characterised by elegant sculptures and exotic plants, ideal to spend unforgettable moments with your loved ones or simply to unwind. This area features a large and beautiful swimming pool with both shallow and deep ends, several comfy sun loungers and umbrellas, rattan outdoor furnitures for sitting and relaxing, a traditional gazebo (balé) that can seat up to 15 people and a tree-shaded space/terrace set in a quiet corner of the garden that can be ideal for yoga or meditation.
Indoor living spaces
As for the outdoor area, the indoor spaces also reflect the owners’ spiritual and artistic leanings, with an impressive array of artworks and artisanal crafts originating from places like China, Africa and, of course, Indonesia. The main living area is set in an open-sided space fitted with stylish comfortable sofas and gorgeous pieces of art. Adjacent to it we find one of the media rooms (the other one being set in the master suite), another gorgeously decorated space featuring a state-of-the-art home theatre system. The dining area with table for 14 guests and the open kitchen with breakfast bar are also located in the open-sided tropical pavilion hosting the lounge corner.
Besides these spaces Villa San offers other amazing living areas for the guest enjoyment: a fully-equipped gym, a children’s playroom, a meeting/function room on the top level (which can also be used for stargazing at night) and an artists studio also located on the upper floor.
Bedrooms
Villa San offers six gorgeous and extremely comfortable bedrooms, all air-conditioned and fitted with speakers and iPod docks. The master suite is located across the garden and overlooks the swimming pool. This pavilion is perfect to host small families with kids as it houses two generous sized bedrooms, one furnished with a king size bed and one with twins, separated by a entertainment room with lounge and modern home theatre system. Both bedrooms feature luxury en-suite bathrooms with tub and shower, accessible through large dressing rooms. The remaining four bedrooms (two queens and two twins) are instead located in separate pavilions set around the main living structure. All four rooms are also serviced by beautiful en-suite bathrooms with large tubs and showers.
Staff
The amazing staff of the villa will be on hand around the clock, available to meet any requests. The team includes a talented chef, a butler, maids, gardeners, maintenance team and security guards. Guests will only have to enjoying their time, relaxing by the pool, indulging in delicious meals or having talented therapists pampering them with massages and spa treatments!

Villa San exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 12 adults (from 4 countries!) and we thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay. Everything mentioned by other reviewers is spot on. The Villa is stunning, luxurious, huge with plenty of space to relax in peace and comfort. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to ensure a great stay. Addy, in particular, impressed everyone with his quiet, competent care - and expert cocktails! The food and housekeeping were both excellent. Highly recommended.

5/5We were a group of 15 (4 kids) staying in Ubud - and Villa San was perfect. It is a beautiful villa - very close to the centre of Ubud - yet you step through the gates and the noise and hustle and bustle seems miles away. The grounds are perfectly kept and the villa is very clean and well maintained. The staff are the trump card however - and really made our stay. They were always there to do anything we needed - but also not hovering around. The chef was absolutely amazing- we ended up eating every meal in as it was so delicious - and also was cost effective as only paying for the ingredients. He did such a great job as we had one coeliac guest and a couple of "no onions" guests - and everyone was happy. One night we had the babi guling feast and the effort the whole staff went to - it was amazing and can truly recommend it. The dining was all set up outside with decorations and there was such a lovely atmosphere. A night for us all to remember. Adi the butler was also a star - he was wonderful being so accommodating of our motley crew - playing with the children and keeping the drinks cold for us - he was wonderful. All the staff were though - a real highlight - thank you. We hope to be back soon!
