Phuket’s west coast is lined with fabulous white sand beaches, Kata is definitely one of the most beautiful and popular between them.
Kata is situated just south of Patong, one of the most crowded locations of the island, but it offers a very different experience. This is a family friendly area, with a relaxed and casual vibe, therefore the perfect place to stay if you are after a peaceful tropical holiday. Kata includes two beaches, separated by a headland; the larger beach is called Kata Yai, while the smallest Kata Noi (Little Kata). Both locations offer a wide selection of international and local restaurants and several nice cafes.
